Fireboy and Watergirl 1 is a 2D platform adventure puzzle game that combines light action elements. Your main task is to lead both characters to the door at the end of the level, collect the corresponding colored diamonds (red for Fireboy, blue for Watergirl), and complete it in the shortest time. Fireboy moves and jumps with the arrow keys, while Watergirl uses A/D to move and W to jump. Fireboy can cross lava but is defeated by water, whereas Watergirl can handle water but not lava.
Both must avoid the green acid pit because it is poisonous. Many levels require coordinated button pressing, lever pulling, box pushing, or activating elevators to clear the way for each other.
